Report: Red Sox, Astros, Brewers showing interest in Tigers' Wilson
Detroit Tigers general manager Al Avila already kick-started his sell off by shipping J.D. Martinez to Arizona this week, and it may not be much longer until his prized closer is traded as well.
The Boston Red Sox, Houston Astros, and Milwaukee Brewers are among the teams showing interest in left-hander Justin Wilson, sources told Jon Morosi of MLB Network.
Wilson is one of the most highly coveted relievers leading up to the non-waiver trade deadline, as the Los Angeles Dodgers, Washington Nationals, and Tampa Bay Rays have also been linked to the 29-year-old.
Coming off one of the worst seasons of his six-year career, Wilson has turned a corner. He owns a 2.75 ERA and 0.94 WHIP across 36 innings, striking out 50 this season. He's held right-handed hitters to a .122/.218/.278 line, while lefties are hitting .250/.300/.417.
Wilson is earning $2.7 million this season and will enter his final year of arbitration this winter before becoming a free agent.
