Roberts doesn't think Dodgers 'need anything' as trade deadline nears

At the top of their division and riding a historic stretch, the Los Angeles Dodgers might not end up being buyers at the deadline after all - but only because they believe they're good enough already.

"If the right deal presents itself, I know we'll act on it," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told Bill Plunkett of the OC Register. "And if it doesn't, like I've said before, we expect to win this division and win a championship."

"You can always get better," he added. "A need? I don't think we need anything."

Roberts' comments came after the team was linked to elite relievers Zach Britton, Justin Wilson, and Brad Hand, but he didn't seem too concerned about upgrades.

"We have the best 'pen in baseball right now," he said, "so our guys are doing a pretty good job right now."

The Dodgers are in the midst of an 11-game win streak following their rain-shortened victory over the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday. They appear destined to finish at the top of their division despite the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies putting together great seasons of their own.
