Report: Red Sox appear close to landing Frazier, Robertson from White Sox

The Boston Red Sox may be on the verge of adding some veteran talent to their infield and bullpen, as the division-leaders appear close to acquiring third baseman Todd Frazier and closer David Robertson from the Chicago White Sox, according to Bruce Levine of 670 The Score.

Frazier, a two-time All-Star, has been linked to the Red Sox for weeks amid their struggles to get any production from the hot corner, and trade speculation only intensified after the White Sox opted to make the 31-year-old a "healthy scratch" for Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. A free agent this winter, Frazier has managed 1.1 WAR in 81 games this season, putting up a .761 OPS (105 OPS+) with 16 homers and 15 doubles for the White Sox.

The trade rumors surrounding Robertson, meanwhile, have been just as rampant of late with the White Sox still rebuilding. Now in the third season of a four-year, $46-million deal, the 32-year-old right-hander owns a 2.70 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in 31 appearances, putting up a 4.27 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 33 1/3 innings while converting 13 saves in 14 chances.

Ahead of Tuesday's game at Guaranteed Rate Field, Robertson was mum about a potential trade.

"I am still here," Robertson said. "That is all I have for you."
