Before Wednesday's game, few New York Yankees fans likely knew the name Miguel Andujar. But by the end of the night, the 22-year-old had vaulted himself into the historic club's record books, above some of the most revered names to have ever worn pinstripes.

Andujar - who was called up from Triple-A earlier in the day after Matt Holliday was placed on the disabled list - became the first Yankee ever to record three or more hits and four-plus RBIs in his major-league debut during the team's 12-3 win over the Chicago White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field. He set the record with a two-run double in the ninth inning.

Andujar's four RBIs broke a long-standing club record. The previous mark of three in a MLB debut was held by Billy Martin (1950) and "Marvelous" Marv Throneberry (1955), according to Yankees PR.

He also became just the fifth Yankee since 1913 - and the first in 70 years - to reach base four times in his first big-league contest.

6/29/2017 Miguel Andujar DH 5 3 4 0 1 4 W 12-3

Fourteen Yankees (including Andujar) have reached base at least three times in their debuts since 1913, but it's only happened four times since 1950.

Andujar finished the game 3-for-4 with a double, a stolen base, four RBIs, and one walk. Despite reaching base four times in a game his team won 12-3, he failed to come around to score.

A native of San Cristobal, Dominican Republic, Andujar was called up to the majors after hitting .312/.342/.494 in 272 plate appearances at Triple-A this season.
