Brewers' Anderson claims oblique injury felt like he got stabbed

The National League Central-leading Milwaukee Brewers were dealt a major blow Wednesday when right-hander Chase Anderson suffered an oblique injury that forced him from the game.

Anderson suffered the injury while striking out in the second inning and told reporters following the game that it felt like he got stabbed, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com.

The Brewers plan to place Anderson on the 10-day disabled list, and McCalvy indicated that he'll likely miss significant time.

Anderson has been the Brewers' best starter this season and one of the best pitchers in the majors. He entered Wednesday's outing against the Cincinnati Reds with a 6-2 record to go with a 2.92 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 84 strikeouts over 15 starts.
