Rays DFA Norris to make room for Ramos

One catcher in, one catcher out.
The Tampa Bay Rays announced late Friday they've designated catcher Derek Norris for assignment after activating fellow backstop Wilson Ramos from the disabled list.
Norris signed with the Rays as a free agent in March after his release from the Washington Nationals, but had only managed a .188/.242/.347 slash line in 52 games for Tampa.
Ramos was one of Tampa's big offseason additions, signing a two-year contract guaranteeing him $12.5 million in December.
The 29-year-old was an All-Star in 2016, hitting .307/.354/.496 with 22 home runs and 80 RBIs before tearing his ACL near the end of the season.
