Scuffling Orioles lose Hardy for 4-6 weeks with fractured wrist

The Baltimore Orioles' recent two-game winning streak came at a cost as J.J. Hardy could miss the next two months with a broken wrist.

Hardy exited Sunday's game after he was hit by a pitch and a CT scan Monday confirmed that the shortstop suffered a non-displaced fracture in his right wrist.

The Orioles expect Hardy to need the next four-to-six weeks to recover before he can begin baseball activities, and it could be two months before he's ready to return to the lineup, according to Dan Connolly of BaltimoreBaseball.com.

Baltimore has lost seven of its last 10 games and are already without Chris Davis until after the All-Star break with an oblique injury.

Hardy was hitting .211/.248/.308 with three home runs, 11 doubles, and 43 strikeouts in 64 games. Ruben Tejada could receive the bulk of the playing time in Hardy's absence.
