Watch: Trout hits solo shot off back of Marlins Park for MLB HR lead

Steve Mitchell / USA TODAY Sports

Mike Trout's home run in the top of the first inning against the Miami Marlins on Saturday was notable for a couple of reasons: 1) it gave him sole possession of the MLB lead in home runs with 16, and 2) it went an improbably long way.

While it wasn't the longest of the MLB season at 443 feet, it did smack off the back of Marlins Park, sending it to onlookers below.

His lead isn't set in stone, even for today. Bryce Harper sits at 15 dingers as the Nationals face the Padres.
