The following is a public service announcement: Joey Bats is a hazard to scoreboards.
In the top of the fourth inning Wednesday in Milwaukee, Jose Bautista - the Toronto Blue Jays star who has spent the month of May doing some serious raking - did a bit of property damage at Miller Park, demolishing a 410-foot solo shot off Brewers right-hander Matt Garza that caromed off the bottom of the scoreboard above the batter's eye in center field.
Bautista, who took the field with a 1.034 OPS over his previous 22 games, has now homered in six of his last 14 contests and hasn't played a game without reaching base safely since May 7 in Tampa Bay.
