Watch: Carlos Zambrano's 1st pitch comes in hot

Arnold-USA TODAY Sports

"Big Z" can still bring the heat, apparently.

Longtime Chicago Cubs starter Carlos Zambrano was on hand Monday at Wrigley Field to throw out the game's first pitch to current Cubs pitcher Eddie Butler.

From afar, it doesn't look like an ordinary first pitch. Upon confirmation from Butler himself, Zambrano's celebratory toss had some mean zip and spin to it.

Not only did Zambrano impress with his first pitch, he wanted everyone to know that in his free time the Cubs were still his team when he plays PlayStation.

"I'm doing good," he said, according to Jon Greenberg of the Athletic Chicago. "I'm in first. Pitching is good. Hitting I have Anthony Rizzo third in the National League, Dexter Fowler stealing a lot of bases."

Considering Fowler is no longer a member of the Cubs and instead plays for the St. Louis Cardinals, maybe Zambrano's still playing last year's edition.

At least "El Toro" can still bring it.
