When you think of Chase Headley, you don't think of uncontrollable rage. But that's what you got if you tuned into the New York Yankees home game against the Houston Astros on Friday night.

Headley squared around to bunt in the bottom of the seventh inning, and the pitch may have hit his hand. It was called foul. Home plate umpire Adrian Johnson may have thought Headley said something about it, which seems to have triggered the confrontation.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said the ejection was a misunderstanding, and that Johnson took comments directed to Astros catcher Brian McCann to actually be directed at him, according to MLB.com's Bryan Hoch.

Johnson doesn't think so. The umpire said that Headley looked at him and said the ball hit him, according to Sports Illustrated's Kenny Ducey, though he laced in some profanity for good measure.

"I don't think it's a misunderstanding when someone looks you right in the eyes and says something," Johnson said.

At any rate, Headley took issue with Johnson and got thrown out of the game. He needed to be restrained by Girardi.
