White Sox's Tyler Saladino: Plays Wednesday

Saladino returned to action Wednesday after missing one game with a wrist injury, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Saladino started at second base and batted leadoff, going 2-for-2 with a homer against the Padres.

Analysis:

Saladino was hit by a pitch on the wrist -- a dangerous area for broken bones -- so Wednesday's return was good news for the 27-year-old, who will begin the 2017 season as the White Sox's primary second baseman. He'll get "a significant amount of time" there according to manager Rick Renteria. It's uncertain whether Saladino will stick as the leadoff hitter when the regular season opens.
