Mets' Matt Harvey: Looks more like old self Sunday

Harvey allowed two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out four over six innings during Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Braves.

Analysis:

His fastball was hitting 97 mph, his slider was running away from right-handed hitters, and the overall result was Harvey's best start of the spring. He still doesn't seem all the way back from surgery to correct his thoracic outlet syndrome, but the 28-year-old's made progress in every start and should at least be able to take his regular turn in the rotation when the regular season begins. With Steven Matz (elbow) now looking like he might need a DL stint, Harvey could make his 2017 debut in the third game of the season, at home April 6 against these same Braves.
