Marlins' A.J. Ellis: Catches in minor league game
Ellis (hamstring) was behind the plate for five innings in a minor league game over the weekend and should see action in a split-squad game Tuesday, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis:
While there isn't much time left in camp, Ellis could yet avoid a DL stint to begin the season if everything looks good Tuesday. When healthy, he'll slot in as the backup to J.T. Realmuto in Miami.
