Rangers' Rougned Odor: Agrees to six-year, $49.5 million extension

Odor agreed to a six-year, $49.5 million extension with the Rangers on Saturday, FanRag Sports' Jon Heyman reports. The deal includes an option for a seventh year.

Analysis:

Odor, who hit 33 home runs last year, was set to be arbitration eligible in 2018 and a free agent in 2021, but he will now be locked in until after the 2022 season. According to Heyman's report, Odor's camp had been focused on the six-year, $51 million deal Jason Kipnis agreed to with the Indians three years ago, and they came close to matching that number. Odor is one of the top fantasy second basemen, not only for single-season leagues, but for dynasty and keeper leagues as well.
