Braves' Bartolo Colon: Struggles again Saturday
Colon coughed up six runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out four over 3.2 innings during Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Tigers.
Analysis:
He did get his pitch count up to 80, and there was some shaky glove work behind him, but there were still very few positives to take away from this outing for Colon. The 43-year-old insists he isn't worried about spring results, and in his defense, he's had a spring ERA lower than 5.00 just once since 2008. However, a 9.20 ERA, 1.91 WHIP and 9:6 K:BB in 14.2 innings this March create at least a little doubt that he'll be able to extend his streak of seasons with at least 30 starts and 190 innings pitched to five.
