In the fifth inning against Canada, Jose Bautista was gunned down trying to score from first base. In Bautista's next at-bat, he made sure that wouldn't happen again.
The slugger drilled a three-run home run off a 2-0 fastball from pitcher Dustin Molleken, extending the Dominican Republic's lead over Canada to 8-2 in the sixth inning. Including the homer, Bautista went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and a run scored. He walked in his final at-bat in the eighth.
Bautista wasn't alone in the onslaught. Every starter in the Dominican's lineup registered at least one hit in the game, likely dashing Canada's hopes of an upset.
