Watch: MLB players make their Oscar predictions
Despite not being nominated for any Academy Awards, it appears "John Wick 2," starring Keanu Reeves, was well received among baseball players.
Ahead of the 89th Oscars, a handful of MLB's best gave their opinions on which movies, actors, and actresses had the best chances of taking home hardware.
Some, including Rich Hill, Marcus Stroman, Devon Travis, and Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, appeared familiar with the leading candidates, praising best picture nominees "Hacksaw Ridge" and "Hidden Figures," as well as actor Casey Affleck, who stars in "Manchester by the Sea."
Others, however, were less knowledgeable. Mark Melancon admitted he had no time to watch any movies thanks to dad duties, while Noah Syndergaard (shoutout to "The Accountant") and Adrian Beltre ("The Lego Batman Movie" was his favorite) both mentioned films that weren't nominated.
