Dodgers' Andrew Toles: Adjusts batting stance
Toles has changed his batting stance, getting rid of the backward step he takes with his left foot and incorporating a toe tap to combat off-speed pitches, Andy McCullough of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis:
Toles dazzled with a .314 clip in 105 at-bats with the big club last year, though there's doubt he can sustain that success. The 24-year-old has some mild breakout intrigue, though, and this change could help him adapt as he tries to build on his early success. He'll battle to occupy at least the top side of an outfield platoon and could add a nice jolt of upside to mixed fantasy teams in the late rounds. There's some allure for head-to-head, daily transaction games, as well, for his work against right-handed pitching (.326/.382/.511 against them with the Dodgers last year).
