Nolan Arenado was in Havana when the death of former Cuban leader Fidel Castro was announced.

The Colorado Rockies' All-Star third baseman is American, though family on his father's side is originally from Cuba.

"I was in shock being in Cuba when (Castro) passed, reaction has been very calm," Arenado said, according ESPN's Marly Rivera. "(I believe) a lot of Cubans feel closer to having the country back to the way it should be."

Castro died Friday at the age of 90. No other notable MLB players of Cuban descent have commented on Castro's death.
