Blue Jays' Joe Biagini: May join starting rotation in 2017
The Jays are considering stretching Biagini into a starter for the 2017 season, the Toronto Star reports.
Analysis:
General manager Ross Atkins hinted at the possibility during his season-ending news conference Monday. Starting games would not be something new for Biagini, who held that responsibility while working his way up the Giants' minor league ladder. Biagini, a Rule 5 draft selection last year, compiled a 3.06 ERA to go along with 62 strikeouts and 19 walks in 67.2 innings for the Jays in 2016. The right-hander did not allow a home run until September.
