Padres' Jarred Cosart: Has surgery to remove loose bodies from elbow
Cosart (elbow) had surgery Wednesday to remove loose bodies from his pitching elbow, the team's official site reports.
Analysis:
It's expected that Cosart will need six weeks to fully recover. With that timetable, he should be 100 percent for the start of spring training in February, but it's fair to wonder if a move to the bullpen may be on tap for Cosart in 2017 if the Padres can find a viable quintet of starters without including the 26-year-old right-hander in that equation.
