Sisk was placed on the Angels' 40-man roster, the team's official website reports.
Sisk is left-handed and struck out 9.8 batters per nine innings while working out of the bullpen for Triple-A Omaha last season. That means he may have some kind of future in the majors, although he probably won't figure prominently into the Angels' plans for the 2012 season. Sisk is already 27 years old and his addition to the 40-man roster is nothing more than a move to protect him from the Rule 5 draft. He'll still probably need a strong spring training in order to have a shot at breaking camp with the big league squad.
