Pirates' Gregory Polanco: Played through second-half pain
Polanco received PRP injections during the second half of 2016 to help with his injured shoulder and knee. "It's a little tough to deal with it," Polanco told DK Pittsburgh Sports. "I just kept fighting and kept playing, because I don't like to be sitting down. Focus next year to keep healthy, because if I stay healthy and I keep fighting, I can go through the whole season."
Analysis:
Polanco hit .206/.249/.386 in his final 201 plate appearances. It wouldn't be surprising to see the team move him from right field to left or even center in 2017, given Andrew McCutchen's declining defensive skills.
