Young fan gets plunked, Mets gift him autographed ball
MLB
There's never a time when getting hit by a baseball is a good thing - except for when it means you'll be showered with gifts afterwards.
One young New York Mets fan sure put on a brave face when he was nailed in the arm by a Jay Bruce grounder on Tuesday.
Neil Walker retrieved the pesky ball and had the entire Mets dugout sign it before gifting it (and a bat) to the teary boy in the front row.
The Mets further salvaged the youngsters' night by claiming a 12-1 victory over the Miami Marlins.
Thumbs up, for sure.
