Blue Jays' Aaron Sanchez: Strikes down 10 Birds in dominant effort
Sanchez (14-2) tossed six strong innings, allowing one run, five hits and three walks while striking out 10 Orioles in Tuesday's victory.
Analysis:
After flailing a bit to begin September, Sanchez finally picked up his first win of the month with Tuesday's great performance. The 24-year-old's 10 strikeouts were the second-most of his career, slightly behind the 12 batters he fanned against the Tigers on June 7 this season. Sanchez is currently slated to start the season finale in Boston on Sunday, though that is subject to change. Having already managed the breakout star's innings this year, Toronto will certainly remove him from that slot if the game holds no playoff implications.
