Watch: Bautista's 3-run HR keeps Blue Jays atop WC pile
Dan Hamilton / USA TODAY Sports
Jose Bautista is heating up at the right time for the Toronto Blue Jays.
With two on and two outs in the eighth inning Saturday afternoon at Rogers Centre, Bautista broke a 0-0 tie with the New York Yankees by hammering a three-run shot over the left-field wall.
It's the 14th time in Bautista's career in which he's given his team the lead with a home run in the eighth inning or later. The Blue Jays hung on for the 3-0 win.
After battling injuries and inconsistency for a large chunk of the season, Bautista entered the afternoon hitting .290/.421/.452 with one home run and two doubles in his last eight games.
