Padres' Edwin Jackson: Strikes out five in win over Giants
Jackson (5-6) was the winning pitcher in Friday's 7-2 win over the Giants, allowing two runs on four hits while walking five and striking out five over six innings.
Analysis:
Edwin "Suitcase" Jackson and the Padres maintained a lead for the entirety of the contest, and while the 33-year-old gave the Giants some life with a two-run fifth, the Padres offense picked up Jackson by quickly adding four runs in the bottom of the same inning to give the journeyman right-hander his second win in his last seven starts, and his second win against San Francisco since being acquired by the Padres in July.
