The Toronto Blue Jays may be the oldest team in the majors, but that didn't stop them from showcasing their new Devon Travis-inspired baby emoji T-shirts.

Travis, known around the Blue Jays clubhouse as "Baby," was seen wearing the emoji-themed shirt before the team opened up a critical four-game series against the New York Yankees on Friday.

"He's pretty much like a baby," teammate Ryan Goins told Sportsnet's Mike Wilner. "All he does is eat, sleep, and go to the bathroom ... and gets hits."

The 25-year-old has been one of the Blue Jays' most consistent hitters of late, with a .367/.424/.433 line in his past seven games, including a career-high 17-game hit streak that ended Wednesday. He says he approves of the new nickname, as it helps the team stay loose in the middle of a playoff push.

"It's awesome. It caught me off guard today, so I guess I'm just embracing it. It is a little bit weird, but it's pretty cool to be able to have fun this time of the year."
