The Detroit Tigers could be without one of their top hitters as they continue their march toward the postseason after Justin Upton exited Monday's game against the Twins with a left calf strain.
Upton, who appeared to suffer the injury while trying to catch Brain Dozier's third-inning homer, is listed as day to day, the team said.
Following a prolonged slump to start to the season, Upton's caught fire of late for the surging Tigers. The power-hitting left fielder entered Monday with nine homers and four doubles in his last 20 games.
