Cubs' Jon Lester: Posts dominant complete-game victory

Lester (15-4) gave up only on earned run on three hits and two walks in a complete-game, 2-1 victory over the Giants on Friday. He struck out four.

Analysis:

The veteran southpaw was dominant on the afternoon, only surrendering a solo homer to Hunter Pence in the seventh. Lester was impressively able to notch first-pitch strikes on 25 of the 32 hitters he faced, while also recording 15 swinging strikes overall. The outing was Lester's second complete game of the season, with the first having come back on June 1 versus the Dodgers. He'll look to follow up the strong performance when he takes on the Brewers next Wednesday.
