Those Canadians, they stay true to their roots.

On Friday, Canada's Little League World Series squad stunned Japan with a 10-4 victory, snapping the Japanese team's 23-game opening-round winning streak in the tournament.

Not only did starting pitcher Loreto Siniscalchi strike out 13 batters over 5 2/3 innings, but he also blasted a solo home run, and pulled out the Edwing around the bases as a tribute to Toronto Blue Jays slugger Edwin Encarnacion.

The loss was Japan's first loss to open the tournament since 1965.
