Indians' Josh Tomlin: Tough-luck loser on Monday
Tomlin (11-6) took the loss Monday despite holding the Red Sox to three runs in 7.2 innings. He allowed seven hits, didn't walk a batter, and struck out three.
Analysis:
The strong start was just what the doctor ordered for Tomlin, who had been pounded for 14 runs in his prior two outings. Tomlin has been prone to the home run, allowing at least one in every start since June 9, but still has a respectable 4.14 ERA and 1.18 WHIP. His next start will come Saturday against Toronto.
