Reds' Cody Reed: Suffers sixth loss in eight MLB starts
Reed (0-6) gave up five runs on eight hits and a walk with just one strikeout in five innings Wednesday against the Cardinals.
Analysis:
The southpaw now owns a brutal 7.30 ERA over eight starts as he tries to figure things out in his rookie season. Even the one area where he'd been contributing -- strikeouts -- has been a struggle over Reed's last two outings, as he has just a 4:3 K:BB in 10 innings. He's failed to finish six frames in six of his outings and has allowed a whopping 11 homers. Although it doesn't seem he'll realize his potential immediately, the 23-year-old's still got plenty of time to make adjustments. Owners in keeper leagues looking toward next season should look into acquiring him.
