Cardinals' Michael Wacha: Earns blemished victory over Marlins
Wacha (6-7) held the Marlins to three runs on four hits with a pair of strikeouts over six innings in Thursday's 5-4 victory.
Analysis:
This could have been a much better outing in the end, as Wacha was in cruise control through the first five innings, allowing just a single hit. But he gave up a single, an RBI double and then a Martin Prado two-run homer in the sixth, leaving the righty with the bare minimum requirements for a quality start. Wacha certainly hasn't been nearly as sharp as in past seasons, but he's been consistent lately, tossing quality starts in seven of his last nine outings.
