Cubs' Kris Bryant: Ends power drought with 26th homer
Bryant went 1-for-3 with his 26th homer -- his first since the All-Star break -- and two runs Wednesday against the White Sox.
Analysis:
Since socking a homer in the All-Star game, Bryant had managed just two extra-base hits (both doubles) in 12 second-half games, but he's been smacking enough singles to keep his numbers afloat nonetheless. Now that he's broken the seal, it'd be no surprise to see Bryant go on a late-season power surge; his first 30-homer season is nearly guaranteed at this point, and the 40 mark is a very reasonable possibility.
