Phillies catcher Rupp leaves game after getting hit in ear
PITTSBURGH (AP) Philadelphia Phillies catcher Cameron Rupp left the game in the third inning Saturday after being struck on the left ear flap of his batting helmet by a pitch from Pittsburgh Pirates rookie right-hander Tyler Glasnow.
Rupp was examined by doctors and found to have no concussion symptoms.
Carlos Ruiz pinch ran for Rupp and stayed in the game at catcher.
