Red Sox's Michael Martinez: Fills in for injured Betts

Martinez entered Friday night's game to play right field when Mookie Betts (knee) was forced to leave. He had a single in two at-bats and made a pair of nice defensive plays.

Analysis:

Betts' injury came out of nowhere, but apparently it's been developing since the All-Star break, according to Bill Ballou of the Providence Journal. He's listed as day-to-day, so Martinez may get another start or two while the Red Sox investigate Betts' knee.
