Dodgers recall Barnes, option Urias to Oklahoma City
ST. LOUIS (AP) The Los Angeles Dodgers have recalled infielder Austin Barnes and optioned pitcher Julio Urias to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Manager Dave Roberts said Barnes gave the team versatility, with All-Star shortstop Corey Seager missing the last three games with a stomach flu and Yasmani Grandal feeling ill the day before.
Seager was in the Dodgers' starting lineup Friday at St. Louis.
Barnes, who can also catch, hit .299 with five home runs, 32 RBI and 32 walks in 63 games at Oklahoma City.
Urias was sent down after making a spot start in the Dodgers' 6-3 win at Washington on Thursday. Roberts said that with several scheduled days off, the team would go with a four-man rotation for the time being.
