Rays' Logan Morrison: Not expected to need DL stint

The Rays do not expect Morrison (wrist) to end up on the DL, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Analysis:

A reason for Morrison's string of recent absences came to light Thursday, as the team revealed that he's been dealing with a wrist issue that's gotten progressively worse. The 28-year-old was to see a doctor Thursday and while the results have not been disclosed, manager Kevin Cash seems confident it's not a long-term concern. That said, the Rays are facing a lefty Friday (Sean Manaea) so at least one more day off for Morrison seems likely.
