Blue Jays' Brett Cecil: Will join team Thursday
Cecil (triceps) will likely rejoin the Blue Jays on Thursday before their series against the Indians, Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reports.
Analysis:
Cecil has made three rehab starts, pitching a combined three innings while giving up two earned runs and three hits during his time in the minors. He was placed on the DL with a left triceps strain in mid-May after a rocky start to the 2016 season, posting a 5.23 ERA with a 1.94 WHIP during 10.1 innings of work. Cecil had been phenomenal out of the bullpen last season for the Blue Jays, and will need to regain that form in order to help the club make another playoff appearance.
