Athletics' Josh Reddick: Now unlikely to return Monday
Reddick (hand) is no longer expected to come off the disabled list Monday, John Hickey of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
Analysis:
Reddick was scheduled to fly back to Oakland on Sunday in preparation for returning to action Monday against the Giants, but it appears his return could be delayed after a discouraging performance during his rehab assignment. The outfielder, who has missed five weeks with a fractured left thumb, has recorded only one hit in 17 at-bats over his four games with Nashville, and indicated he didn't want to return from the DL until he feels good at the plate. Fortunately, Reddick has experienced no physical setbacks to this point, so there's still a could chance that he rejoins the A's within a few days.
