Red Sox's Blake Swihart: Has cast removed

Swihart (ankle) had his hard cast removed and is now in a walking boot, the Boston Globe reports.

Analysis:

Swihart will be able to go through some treatment, but it will be minimal. It's been a little more than a week since Swihart was placed in a hard cast and he'll have another week or so in the walking boot to keep the ankle immobilized. We should get an update by the middle of next week, but fantasy owners should prepare to be without Swihart for a significant stretch of time.
