Most everybody who makes a living playing baseball - or, say, writing about baseball - owes some measure of their passion and/or success to dad. Bryce Harper is one of 'em.
With Father's Day just around the corner, the reigning National League MVP expressed his gratitude to his old man, Ron, in a new spot for New Era, with the 23-year-old thanking his ironworker father for hustling home after toiling under the impossibly hot Las Vegas sun to "throw to me and hit me ground balls."
"I definitely get my work ethic from him," said Harper, adding that "everyday I get up, (I) tell him I love him (and) hope he has a great day."
