Indians' Joba Chamberlain: Activated from DL on Wednesday
Chamberlain (ribs) was activated from the disabled list Wednesday.
Analysis:
Chamberlain returns to the Indians almost immediately after he was eligible to come off the disabled list. He suffered an intercostal strain in late May that landed him on the shelf, but prior to that injury, the veteran was enjoying a resurgent 2016 campaign. In 14 appearances, Chamberlain had posted a 1.93 ERA with a microscopic .86 WHIP before suffering the injury. He'll rejoin the Indians' bullpen Wednesday while Cody Anderson will be sent back down to Triple-A Columbus in a corresponding move.
