Nelson Cruz's boom stick went boom Saturday in unprecedented fashion.
Prior to the Mariners' tilt with the Twins, Cruz smacked the first ball ever out of Safeco Field during a batting practice session that left his teammates and coaches awestruck.
Cruz, who led the majors in homers with 40 in 2014 and hit a career-high 44 last year, has 10 long balls and a .908 OPS in 46 games this season.
