Yankees' Luis Severino: Will make rehab start Saturday
Severino (triceps) will make his first rehab start Saturday for High-A Tampa, the Associated Press reports.
Analysis:
The Yankees rested Severino for about two weeks after he was diagnosed with a mild triceps strain, but he's apparently shown enough improvement with his condition to test out his arm. Given that Severino was sporting a 7.46 ERA and 1.68 WHIP over his first seven starts, the Yankees may want the 22-year-old to complete a couple of rehab outings before returning from the DL. It's not guaranteed he'll take back a spot in the rotation from Ivan Nova or CC Sabathia once he's activated.
