Indians' Cody Anderson: Strikes out nine in spot start victory over White Sox
Anderson (1-3) allowed just one run on five hits with nine strikeouts and no walks over seven innings in a win Monday over the White Sox.
Analysis:
Anderson was dominant, as he induced 16 swinging strikes on just 94 pitches, threw 63 strikes, and drew seven groundball outs. He had been awful heading into this start, with a 7.99 ERA in 32.2 innings. He will likely be heading back to Triple-A, as he was only on the roster as the 26th man for Monday's doubleheader, but if Mike Clevinger (8.71 ERA) continues to struggle, Anderson could be back soon.
