Blue Jays' Jose Bautista: Homers in loss to Rays
Bautista hit his seventh homer, a two-run shot, in a 1-for-2 game with a walk in Tuesday's loss to the Rays.
Analysis:
Bautista extended his hit streak to six games with the dinger and has six extra-base hits and seven walks over the stretch. It still remains to be seen when Bautista will serve his suspension or if it will be commuted on appeal. Right now he's on a roll, looking like the powerful and disciplined slugger who has been the face of the Jays in recent years. Even with his slow start, he's now on pace for 28 home runs and can easily blow by that number if he catches one or two of his patented hot streaks over the rest of the season.
