Clint Robinson didn't know he lifted the Washington Nationals to victory until after he rounded first base.

Robinson, who came on as a pinch-hitter with the game tied in the ninth inning against the Detroit Tigers, only learned that he hit a walk-off home run in the 5-4 win when he saw his teammates gather around home plate.

“I’m not kidding,” Robinson told the Washington Post's James Wagner, adding he wouldn't have had it any other way. “Thinking it was the eighth inning probably had a little bit of a calming effect on me.

“No big deal. Then rounding third, knowing it was a walk-off homer, was that much sweeter.”

Robinson's home run came after a wild finish that saw Bryce Harper get ejected while he was in the dugout after continuously pestering home plate umpire Brian Knight about his strike zone.

The slugger is now facing a potential suspension, fine, or both when he came onto the field to celebrate with his teammates despite getting tossed.

MLB rules state when a player or coach is ejected, he's not permitted to come back on the field.
